Kayu ® International is a Direct Importer of hardwood trailer decking, from shiplap and rough lumber, to custom specialty patterns. We serve the U.S. transportation industry for truck and trailer decking and deliver Apitong throughout the U.S. and Canada. For over 22 years, Steve Wilson, president and owner of Kayu International has led the Kayu Team, importing Keruing and the highest quality hardwoods. From exotic hardwoods used for commercial construction and the home improvement industry, to our purpose-focused Truck Decking – Apitong wood.

Throughout our history our main emphasis has always been focused on providing the best quality hardwoods for our customers, when they want it. With business growing solidly every year, we can honestly say we have accomplished that and more. Our warehouses are stocked nation-wide, year round and are located on both the West Coast and East Coast.

Our Owner and President, Steve Wilson, has been in the Lumber Industry for more than 40 years and began Importing Lumber from SE Asia in the early 80’s. KAYU® continues to maintain and purchase exotic hardwood for decades from many of the same Mill Owners.

A specialized team based out of Wilsonville, Oregon makes frequent visits each year to South East Asia to better communicate customer needs to the overseas purchasing staff and suppliers. Supported by full time and highly skilled experts, the Malaysian and Indonesian KAYU team continuously and extensively is; negotiating the best prices, ensuring quality control and expediting shipments. Additionally, KAYU offers the most advantageous shipping and logistical support, as well as constant monitoring of our U.S. and Canadian inventory.

KAYU® APITONG (KERUING)™ SHIPLAP TRAILER FLOORING

SE Asian Kayu® Apitong (Keruing)™ has been the traditional wood of choice for flatbed truck flooring for at least 25 years. As standard flatbed flooring, Apitong (Keruing)™ is usually used as solid, plank flooring. Most commonly in a shiplap form, this flatbed flooring will typically vary from 1-1/8” to 1-3/” in thickness with widths typically 5” or 7”. Solid shiplap flooring is typically used in lightweight flatbed trailers where product weight, durability, strength, and price are the major concerns for manufacturers.
